WEGRE is a non-profit making organisation. It is against this background that WEGRE strives to create effective channels of communication between all the actors involved in training and technology transfer. To these ends, HRDC has achieved the following goals:
· active involvement in initiatives concerning regional development
· the facilitation of the integration of its region into the European Community.
· participation in actions within information society in Western Greece
· coordination of networking between educational and training organisations(universities etc)
· the development of novel educational methods
· the contribution to the transfer of knowledge and skills from more to lesser advantaged regions, such as Western Greece and Epirus.
· the promotion of vocational and scientific literacy through Information Technology
· the provision of feedback to the education systems thereby improving the existing methods and approach.
· the development of many cooperation axes between universities and industry.
· communication point for technology transfer
· identify end-users by using the UETP network, member-organisations and SMEs
· supply information and examine user needs
· disseminate results, products, etc.
