The University of La Rioja is in close contact with the food industry. There are 475 members on its teaching and research staff and 240 on its administrative and service staff.
The Food and Agriculture Department (Science Faculty) offers competent training in its undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programms. This Department is very active in the field of resaerch on food safety and quality and food technology.
The University of La Rioja is located in a region with a large number of food industries (fresh vegetables, fresh mushrooms, meat products, cheese products, canned foods, wine, vinegar…). The University of La Rioja has a close contact with the food industry and provides services to the food industry.
